The Sports Academy of the Cyprus Sports Organisation is the qualified body of CSO for the promotion of education, inquiring information and technology at sports.
A Committee that is constituted by five Members who are also Members of the Administrative Council of CSO directs the Sports Academy. The Members of Committee are:

The main objective of the Sports Academy is the elevation of the athletes' education, trainers, referees and instructors to each direction that is developmentally erased in the sector of sports.
The educational unit refers to the subjects:
- Obligatory seminars
- Voluntary seminars
- Schools, clinic s , camping spaces etc
The Sports Academy in the twelve years of its work has substantially contributed, through the series of courses that are carried out by the responsible institutions, the schools and the clinics, in the graduation of many referees of various sports as well as critics in the classic sports and in the gymnastics. It has also offered economic support and has improved the education of active members of the athletic federations and other athletic Authorities in Cyprus.
The majority of the educational capital of the Sports Academy is mainly offered to the athletic contacts and federations of sports.
REGULATIONS ON THE INTERNAL OPERATION OF THE SPORTS ACADEMY
- Sports Academy, aims and objectives
The Sports Academy of Cyprus is a school that submits to the Cypriot Organisation of Sports. It has as its aim the theoretical and practical training and education of those who are involved in any way with sports.
The school seeks the objectives below:
(a) The constitution or even the education in the sciences related to sports
(b) The constitution or even the education in theory and practice in the Sports activities
(g) Teaching / learning of athletic subjects (Referees, trainings etc) in a basic, medium and superior level and in a wider circle if possible
(d) The growth of its students' personality
(e) The publication of educational handbooks, studies and other forms
(f) The cultivation of sporting spirit
- Structure and content of study
The Academy offers seminars that are distinguished in repeated series that are optionally or obligatorily attended , in solely optional seminars, in solely obligatory seminars and seminars (optionally or even obligatorily)in an annual base.
In the Academy there are three sectors of study:
(a) Sector of Referees (Schools)
(b) Sector of training (Schools)
(g) Sector of permanent education of the athletic executives
(g) Seminars of interior
(g ') Seminars of abroad
(d) Sector of cultivation of the sporting spirit
Each student of sectors a and b during his study is compelled to make practical exercise according to the each time forecasted equivalents.
It is marked that the subjects of the above sectors can be carried out from the familiar institutions, which the academy will subsidise every year
Administration / management / Constitution of committees
The A.C. OF COS constitutes the superior body of the school. The A.C cedes the running administration of the school according to decisions of policy that are occasionally taken, in a Committee from its members according to the COS laws 69/93, Part B, article 4-1-8. The Committee is named Committee of the Sports Academy, and it is constituted from a body of a president and four members, who can bear a place of the president's assistants.
The Committee is convened, holds meetings and takes decisions, under the same terms and conditions that are in effect respectively for the session of the A.C. The implementation / concretisation of its decisions after they are approved from the A.C are held via a service of the already arranged as the remaining decisions of the A.C.
It is assumed that in the Committee all the members of the A.C can sit if they wish without however having the right to vote.
At the same time as inserted bodies in the Academy of Sports the committees that can function are:
(a) The Academic Committee, which exclusively examines subjects of analytic programs and deposits its positions, to help on decision-taking from the Committee of the Academy or the A.C. It still has the responsibility and competence to propose at year the annual Academic production scheduling, at half-year period the semi-annual, at a quarter the quarterly and at month the monthly schedule. The members of the Academic Committee are set up by the A.C. without any restriction of number, so that they cover all sectors and activities of the school. One of its members is defined by the A.C. as the secretary of the committee and it has the responsibility of convocation and presidency of congresses and formulation and deposit of its proposals / decisions.
(b) Administrative Committee that exclusively examines subjects that concern the harmonic operation of the school and deposit its positions, to help on the decision-taking from the Committee of the Academy or the A.C.It still has the responsibility and competence for the programming schedule of the operation of the school and the manufacture of the timetable, respectively with the approved Academic programming schedule.
The members of the Administrative Committee are set up by the A.C. and they are 3, 5, and 7. One from its members is defined to be the secretary of the committee and has the responsibility of convocation and presidency of congresses and formulation and deposit of its proposals / decisions.
The Administrative Committee works out regulations of the school operation that concern registrations, study, consequences of incomplete study, morals and behaviour, disciplinary code, examinations and deduction of results.
In its responsibility is also found the inspection of the harmonic operation of the school.
The role of the committees is advisory. The committees do not substitute the A.C.
The approval or reject of exterior seminars and their planning are a competence of the Committee of Academy.
