1. Cultivating and developing all the amateur track and field athletics in Cyprus being accessible to all the ages independently to the sex, social stratum, religion or national identity according to the international regulations, encouraging, supervising and coordinating the sport activities of its members and all those who cultivate the amateur track and field athletics.
2. Organising the Pan Cyprian Track and Field Championship of all leagues, putting under its auspices the regional games or sport meetings or participating in International sport events and undertaking the organisation of international sport meetings in Cyprus.
3. Caring for the health of the athletes, protecting them from using forbidden substances, sanctioning them, if they do so without their coaches or the board of the clubs, which they belong to being aware of their acting this way. Sanctioning their coaches too if they use such substances contained in the list approved by the International Amateur Athletic Federation with which a close co-operation is established to wipe out this habit of using the above-mentioned forbidden substances.
4. Organising in Cyprus, in co-operation with other sport vehicles, lectures or seminars to train judges, supervisors and coaches, facilitating the participation of judges, supervisors and coaches in seminars abroad and providing coaches with training opportunities and specialisation in particular sports.
5. Selecting athletes to represent Cyprus in international sport events and meetings, organising and training the qualified national teams of all the leagues relying upon their performance and independently to the origin or national identity of the athletes
.6. Contacting International Sport Federations, Associations, Organisations and Boards to follow-up the competitive movement abroad and co-operate with them for the organisation of competitive games, coaching exchanges, training sessions or any further education of gym masters or coaches for sport camping on a mutual basis and in general terms in favour of every competitive or sport issue.
7. Co-operating with the other Cypriot sport organisations and federations or boards and participating in organisations, which exist or will be and pursue the same or corresponding objectives.
8. Following up the competitive gym movement at school and co-operating with the competent persons at the Ministry of Education to find gifted athletes both men and women, providing them with the necessary means and incentives to make further progress and in general terms to cultivate the Olympic spirit among the school youngsters.
9. Bringing out regulations, to monitor all the matters related to registrations and transfers of athletes, clubs adhering to the Federation, the terms as per which the athletes and coaches are granted a scholarship or enjoy other benefits, teaching discipline to the athletes and the coaches, structuring the various services and in general terms ensuring the smooth functioning of the Federation as the national vehicle being involved in amateur track and field athletics in Cyprus.
10. Pursuing its adhering to the International Federation of amateur track and field and claiming positions in the supreme group, the causes being that the founders are since 1896 the founding members of the Association of Greek Gymnastic Sport Clubs and the International Amateur Athletic Federation.
11. Caring for setting up and enriching constantly a sport library, providing it with videotapes related to coaching programs, world championships and the latest sport news with a view to using both options for preparing and training the athletes and the coaches on a scientific level.
12. Caring for being granted the necessary financial sources to ensure the unhindered functioning of the Federation and the achievement of its objectives as well as the accomplishment of its programs.
