| Significant Successes of National
Teams |
| The federation was established in
1974and became active in 1998. Today it has 202
male and female athletes registered, 95 of which
participate in the four divisions of the National
Championship of Cyprus. Our Federation is a member
of the corresponding International and European
Federations since 1974. Our participations –since
1998 -in the World Championship and in the European
Championship are our greatest successes. In the
above championships our athletes managed to pass
through to the semi-finals. In 2001 our Federation
ranked 12th in the European K1 League. Our members
are the 5 Yachting Clubs of Cyprus, to which we
have granted 28 single-seat and 13 double-seat Kayaks
and 5 four-seat kayaks. Furthermore, it subsidizes
its member Clubs for their coaching plans. |

| Main Goals of the Federation

| Eligible for membership are Clubs
or Associations that were established or will be
established within the Republic of Cyprus, aiming
to develop the sports of Canoe and Kayak, provided
that they have their seat outside the district of
a Municipality or Improvement Board where a Regular
Member of CCF is already seated. Entitled to enter
CCF as new members are Sports Clubs registered with
the forces of Cyprus's Sport Organization, having
at least 80 members, an elected Administrative Board,
and an organized sports' department for at least
one of the sports of the Federation (and in which
no private interest is involved). |
